Bar Snap hosts photographs and recipe content submitted by its users. We respect copyright and respond to properly submitted notices under the Digital Millennium Copyright Act.

If you believe material on Bar Snap infringes a copyright you own or are authorised to act for, send a written notice to our designated agent using the details below.

The DMCA requires specific elements. A notice missing them may not be actionable, and we may come back to you for the rest before we can act.

1. A physical or electronic signature of the copyright owner, or a person authorised to act on their behalf.
2. Identification of the copyrighted work you say has been infringed.
3. Identification of the material you are asking us to remove, with enough detail for us to find it — a direct link to the page or image is best.
4. Your address, telephone number, and email address.
5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
6. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate, and — under penalty of perjury — that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on their behalf.

Please be accurate. Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing can make you liable for damages, including costs and legal fees, under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f).

1. We remove or disable access to the material identified in the notice.
2. We notify the person who uploaded it, and pass on your notice so they can respond.
3. We record the removal against that account, including a strike.

If your material was removed and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you may send a counter-notification to the same agent. It must include your signature, identification of the material and where it appeared before removal, a statement under penalty of perjury that you have a good-faith belief it was removed by mistake, your contact details, and your consent to the jurisdiction of the federal court for your district — or, if you are outside the United States, for the District of Nebraska — and that you will accept service from the person who filed the original notice.

We will forward your counter-notification to the original claimant. Unless they tell us they have filed a court action seeking to restrain you, we may restore the material in 10 to 14 business days.

We do not decide who owns a photograph. This process exists so that the dispute goes back to the two parties who can settle it.

We terminate the accounts of repeat infringers. Every removal made under a valid notice is recorded against the uploading account. An account that accumulates repeated infringement is terminated, which ends access to Bar Snap and to any content posted from it.

A strike that is withdrawn by the claimant, or resolved in the uploader's favour after counter-notification, does not count toward termination.

You do not need to file a DMCA notice to flag a problem. Every user-submitted image on Bar Snap has a report control, which sends it to the same review queue our moderators use. That is often the faster route for an obvious problem, and it does not affect your right to send a formal notice.
